OMG! did you hear how they discovered that KALE CAUSES CANCER!!?!? Neither did I. But if they ever did, you’d still be able to have your daily, healthful, tasty green smoothie if you wanted to, with this treat.
Cuz, yeah, kale doesn’t have to own the green smoothie market; green tea matcha, basil, and honeydew are green, too. And, together, give this drink a truly refreshing profile (I mean, really, let’s stop kidding ourselves – raw kale is not exactly refreshing…).
My take on something I saw from Instagram user @kokoinparis. As she said, “not your average green smoothie.” Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 large banana
- 1/2 c frozen pineapple
- 1 c honeydew melon
- 1/4 c almond milk (or soy, etc.)
- 1 tsp green tea matcha powder
- 6 large basil leaves
- 1 tsp lime juice (about 1/6 of a large lime)
Method
Step 1
Nothing fancy here - put it all in the blender and process away! If you want a thinner smoothie, either add more milk, or more honeydew...remember that the melon is mostly just flavored water anyway...
Step 2
PS - if you _do_ want to get fancy and garnish it for yourself and other drinkers, keep in mind that even the smallest sprinkle of matcha powder on top consumed all in one swallow can be too much to handle; stir it in with a straw (or finger!) so it won't be overpowering.
