BBQ Tofu Sandwich with Spicy Coleslaw

This is a fun sandwich to make because you can play with the taste.  If you want it sweeter, use a sweet BBQ sauce.  If you want it more spicy, add more hot sauce.  The coleslaw gives the sandwich a spicy crunch and the pickle mixes great with the heat. Enjoy!

  • 1 Block of Extra Firm Tofu, pressed
  • 1/2 Cup of BBQ Sauce
  • 2 Teaspoons of Hot Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup of Water
  • 3 Cups of Shredded Cabbage (I use the mixed coleslaw bags)
  • 1 Green Apple, diced
  • 2 Teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 Teaspoon of Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon of Cajun Seasoning
  • Enough Bread for 4 Sandwiches
  • 4 Pickle Slices


Step 1

Preheat oven to 425f.

Step 2

Mix BBQ sauce, hot sauce, and water in a bowl.

Step 3

Place tofu in an 8x8 baking dish. Cover tofu with BBQ sauce mix.

Step 4

Bake for 25 minutes, flipping every 8 - 10 minutes.

Step 5

While tofu is cooking, place cabbage, apple, sugar, vinegar, and Cajun seasoning in a bowl and mix.

Step 6

Remove tofu from oven and place on bread. Top with coleslaw and a pickle slice.
