Oatmeal Cranberry Cookie Jar

Give the gift of delicious plant-based cookies this year!  This quick and easy idea makes a great gift and tastes delicious.

Simply add the dry ingredients to a medium mason jar (get creative when layering), top with a festive cover and ribbon, add a wooden spoon and you are now everyone’s favorite secret santa!  Make sure to include a card with the directions for the wet ingredients and baking instructions.


  • JAR
  • 2/3 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 Cup Flour
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Rolled Oats
  • 3/4 Cup Dried Cranberries
  • 1/2 Cup (1 Stick) Margarine ( I used Earth Balance)
  • 1/4 Cup Applesauce
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla


Step 1

Put the margarine, vanilla, and applesauce into a mixing bowl.

Step 2

Add the contents of the mason jar to the bowl and use a hand mixer until it gets the consistency of cookie dough.

Step 3

Use a tablespoon to scoop cookies onto a cookie sheet and cook for 11-13 minutes at 350.
