Sweet & Spicy Tempeh Wrap

This is a quick meal or snack that has some of the greatest tempeh I’ve made, all in about 15 minutes.

Whip up the tempeh and add it to a tortilla with your favorite veggies – preferably something green, red, and orange. I used cucumber, lettuce, and carrot.


  • 1package of tempeh, chopped into slices
  • 1/3 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 red chili, sliced (remove the seeds to make it mild)
  • 1.5 Tablespoons sweetener (I used brown sugar)
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons + 1 teaspoon of sesame oil (or olive)
  • Veggies
  • Flour Tortillas


Step 1

Heat 2 teaspoons of oil and fry the tempeh until browned on both side and then set aside.

Step 2

Add 1 teaspoon of oil to the pan and saute the onion, garlic and chili until the the onion is translucent and softened.

Step 3

Add the water, sweetener, and salt and increased the heat to medium-high. Cook and stir until the liquid caramelizes.

Step 4

Add the tempeh back to into the pan and stir until coated with the sauce.

Step 5

Slice up some veggies, add in the tempeh and roll up in a flour tortilla - party time!
