Super Simple Air Fried Tofu

One of the most common questions I get from readers is ‘what do I do with tofu?!’. The delicious bean curd is incredibly versatile; varying in firmness and taking on the flavor of whatever you cook it in. The texture ranges from silken to soft, firm, and extra firm. You can create to your heart’s content with this wonder food. Since February is Heart Health Month and so many of you are looking for lighter options (and ways to incorporate those air-fryer Christmas presents!), I’m excited to share this recipe with you for a super simple air fried tofu using Mazola® Corn Oil. For this Super Simple Air Fried Tofu, you’ll need the following four ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon (or small spray bottle) of Mazola® Corn Oil
- 1 (16-ounce) package of extra firm tofu, heavily pressed and cut into ½-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- ¼ teaspoon of freshly ground pepper, to taste
I keep my Mazola® Corn Oil in a bottle and lightly coat my tofu with Mazola® Corn Oil before cooking it, so to start, place the tofu in a medium bowl with Mazola® Corn Oil until it’s thoroughly coated.
Next, I add in the soy sauce and freshly ground pepper and mix together. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Spread a single layer of tofu in your air fryer. For the tofu to be evenly air fried, it’s best that the cubes don’t touch, then put it back in the air fryer.
It’s as simple as that! You can now enjoy a delicious new version of a favorite household staple. The tofu can be added to a salad, eaten as a snack, or plated with a meal by adding steamed vegetables and rice. It’s sure to be a hit in your home and a wonderful meal for Heart Health Month!
