Vegan Waffles

This homemade Vegan Belgian Waffle recipe is perfect for breakfast, brunch or even dinner (if you’re a true waffle lover!). 

Ingredients

– 2 ½ tbsp warm water – 1 tbsp flax meal – 1 3/4 cups plant-based milk – 1/3 cup neutral oil – 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract – 2 cups  flour – 1 1/2 tbsp  sugar – 1 tbsp brown sugar – 3 tsp baking powder – 1/4 tsp salt – 1/2 tsp cinnamon

– Turn on your waffle iron. – In a small bowl, whisk together the warm water and ground flax seeds until thoroughly combined. Set aside for 10 minutes.

– In a medium bowl, whisk together the plant-based milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Set aside. – In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, both sugars, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.

– Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the milk mixture and flax mixture. Whisk gently, just until combined. Make sure to not overmix.

– Scoop the desired amount of batter onto the preheated waffle iron. Follow your waffle iron instructions to cook. Repeat with the remaining batter until all the waffles are cooked.
