A childhood favorite gets a spooky twist in these vegan mini spider pizza bagel bites. Make this Halloween party snack with just 4 base ingredients and 20 minutes!
2tablespoonsminced veggies(like mushrooms or bell peppers, optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Split the mini bagels in half and place them face up on a baking sheet.
Spoon a layer of pizza sauce or marinara onto each bagel half.
Sprinkle with vegan cheese, and add basil and minced veggies if using.
Place one whole black olive in the center hole of each bagel half. Arrange 3 to 4 halved olive slices on each side of the whole olive to create "spider legs."
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the bagels are crispy and the vegan cheese is melted and veggies are tender.
Remove from the oven, cool slightly, and serve!

For larger pizza bagels: Use regular bagels if preferred.
To avoid soggy pizza bites: Lightly toast (or cook for 3-4 minutes) the bagels before adding the sauce. Take it a step further with a light layer of olive oil to form a barrier.
Experiment with toppings: You can add finely diced veggies/protein, but spread them beneath the vegan cheese to avoid distracting from the ‘spider.’
Let them cool slightly: Marinara sauce and hot vegan cheese can be somewhat molten-like right out of the oven. Give them a few minutes to cool.
