  • Lemons – Fresh lemon juice balances the natural sweetness of the California Grapes.
  • Mint leaves (optional) – Add a few leaves for herbal flavor that pairs beautifully with the grape and lemon combination.

Optional Add-ins & Recipe Variations

  • Mixed berries: Blend in strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries.
  • Coconut water: Replace some of the cold water with coconut water.
  • Cucumber: Blend in a few slices of cucumber for an extra-refreshing flavor.
  • Sparkling water: Add a splash after blending.
  • Adjust the consistency: Add more water for a thinner slushie or extra frozen California Grapes and ice for a thicker texture.

FAQs

Can I use red or black California Grapes instead of green grapes?

Yes. Red or black seedless grapes can be used, although they may give the slushie a slightly sweeter flavor and a deeper color.

Do I need to freeze the California Grapes first?

Yes. Frozen California Grapes are important for creating the thick, icy slushie texture. Freeze seedless California Grapes until completely solid before blending.

Can I make this slushie without ice?

Yes, but the drink may be less frosty. You can use more frozen California Grapes instead to keep the slushie thick and cold.

Pro Tips

  • Add more frozen California Grapes or extra ice and blend if you want a thicker slushie. If you want to thin it out, add more cold water.
  • Freeze California Grapes completely. Make sure the grapes are fully frozen for a thick, icy texture.
  • Use a high-speed blender. A powerful blender helps break down the frozen grapes and ice into a smooth, even slushie.
  • Chill the glasses for a few minutes before serving to keep the slushie cold longer.
  • Serve the California Grape lemonade slushie immediately. Slushies have the best texture right after blending, so pour and enjoy right away.
