It’s All in The Chocolate…and the Strawberries!
These chocolate dipped strawberries are the perfect summer treat! Buying strawberries when they are in season is always recommended because they are the sweetest and juiciest, but we know it’s not always feasible. Luckily, finding strawberries during the colder months is still possible, we just especially enjoy these in the warm summer sun.
When it comes to the chocolate, we recommend semi-sweet non-dairy chocolate chips for a nice, soft and smooth coating, plus they are very easy to melt. Our favorite brands for vegan chocolate chips are Enjoy Life Foods, Guittard, and Trader Joe’s.
Do I Need To Melt The Chocolate in A Double Boiler?
Not at all! You can simply melt the chocolate in a safe microwave bowl for 30 seconds until its melted. A pro tip is to stir in a few chocolate chips once the chocolate is already melted to temper it. This will make your coating extra smooth and avoid streaks.
How To Dip The Strawberries?
This seems like a no-brainer, but there are a few things you should keep in mind. Hold the strawberry by its leaves and roll it in the chocolate to cover it all around. A good tip is to not cover the entire fruit so there’s a glimpse of that gorgeous red near the top.
How Long Can I Store Them For?
You can store them on the same parchment paper inside your fridge uncovered. Unfortunately, we advise you eat them within a day or two since neither the strawberries nor the chocolate won’t hold for longer than that. Plus, we don’t think you’ll resist them for too long anyway!

- 1 (1-pound or 500 grams) carton of fresh strawberries
- 1 1/2 cups of semi-sweet (non-dairy) chocolate chips
Wash and pat dry the strawberries.
In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the chocolate chips in 30-second increments until thoroughly melted. Each time, stir well enough so the bottom doesn't burn.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Dip strawberries in melted chocolate and place on parchment paper to cool.
Refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes.
