Variations and Add-ons

  • If you want to make this dish gluten-free, just swap the soy sauce with tamari.
  • To make it Paleo friendly, use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce. Also, you can use lemon juice instead of balsamic vinegar.
  • You can add maple syrup to the dressing to give it a touch of sweetness!
  • Give your Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts a punch of heat by adding chili flakes or chili powder.
  • Instead of tossing in a soy-vinegar dressing, you can also just sprinkle some vegan parmesan or nutritional yeast before serving it.

Tips when Making Crispy Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts

  • Choose uniformly-sized Brussels sprouts as much as possible so they cook evenly. If you have pieces that are smaller than the others, keep them intact. If some are bigger than the rest, cut them in quarters.
  • Adjust the cooking time depending on the size of the sprouts you have. Add a few more minutes if you have larger ones.
  • Always cook in a single layer to achieve that perfect crispiness. If your air fryer is on the small side, cook in batches instead.
  • Serve it immediately for best results. If the Brussels sprouts are left in the dressing too long, they will lose their crispiness. If you are making this in advance, keep the veggies warm and just toss them in the dressing before serving.

How to Store leftovers?

  • Make sure to let them cool completely before transferring them to a lidded container. They should stay good in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat them in the microwave at 30-second intervals or in your air fryer for 1-3 minutes at 350 degrees F. They might not be as crunchy as they were when freshly cooked, but they will still be delicious!
