Welcome to Plant-Based on a Budget

Plant-Based on a Budget is a resource designed to make plant-based eating affordable, approachable, and absolutely delicious. I started it in 2012 to answer a simple question: Can you eat plant-based without spending a fortune? The answer is a big, flavorful YES.

Today, you’ll find over 1,000 budget-friendly vegan recipes here, along with free meal plans and practical cooking tips. My mission is to prove that nutritious, satisfying meals don’t require expensive ingredients, fancy equipment, or hours in the kitchen.

How I Create My Recipes

I develop my recipes based on what’s on sale, what my audience is looking for, and what’s growing in my garden. Every recipe is tested by everyday home cooks, including students, parents, seniors, and families just like yours.

My recipes are:

  • Easy to make (an average of 30 minutes or less!)
  • Free from meat, dairy, and eggs
  • Made with easily accessible, low-cost, whole-food ingredients
  • Versatile and built for any time of the day, including drinks, breakfast, and desserts
  • So delicious that everyone will enjoy them
