Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Who doesn’t love a tall glass of ice-cold lemonade? The homemade stuff is always extra tart and sweet, which is why I can’t seem to stop myself from making a whole bunch of different flavors, like cucumber lemonade, fresh strawberry lemonade, and basil lemonade. And this refreshing peach lemonade recipe? It might be one of my new favorites thanks to its irresistible fruity summer flavors.

Peaches peak typically from June to August every summer, making this peach-flavored lemonade one of the BEST ways to celebrate the season. It’s just so easy to make, too. Fresh peaches are blended with lemons, sugar, and water to give you a sweet and tangy summer drink that’s free from preservatives and artificial ingredients but still packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

What’s better is how much fun homemade lemonade is to customize. Whether you’re blending up a batch for a summer BBQ, a picnic, or poolside lounging, you can easily add more fruit or swap the water for sparkling water for a bubbly twist. You’ll still have a thirst-quenching drink that screams “summer”.

The Ingredient Notes

Look for firm lemons that feel heavy for their size (they’ll be the juiciest). If you’re in a rush, you can make the lemonade with bottled lemon juice, but it will be missing the tangy zing of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

What Else Can I Add to Peach Lemonade?

  • Natural sweeteners: Plenty of natural options exist if you’re avoiding refined sugar. Try agave syrup, maple syrup, Stevia, or experiment to see what you like best.
  • Add other fruits: Blend in cherries, strawberries, raspberries, or kiwi to play with the fruity flavors. Or, how delicious does peach mango lemonade sound?!
  • Herbs: Fresh mint, basil, or rosemary pair beautifully with citrus and peaches. Muddle the herbs slightly before blending.
  • A hint of spice: Add a pinch of ground ginger, cinnamon, or even cayenne pepper for some warmth.
  • Make it fizzy: Swap out some or all of the water for sparkling water or club soda to turn your peach lemonade into a refreshing, bubbly beverage.
  • Make it pink: Add a splash of cranberry juice for a delightful peach-flavored pink lemonade.
  • Fancy ice cubes: Try freezing peach slices in your ice cubes. As they melt, they’ll release extra deliciousness into your drink and look beautiful in the process!

FAQs

Can I use frozen peaches?

Yes! Frozen peaches are a great alternative when fresh peaches are out of season, as they’re picked and frozen at peak ripeness. Just make sure to thaw them before blending.

Can I use canned peaches?

Canned peaches can work in a pinch, but try to find peaches packed in their own juices or water rather than syrup. Also, drain them well before blending.

How can I turn this recipe into a smoothie?

You can blend the peach lemonade with a handful of ice for a thicker, slushier consistency, or add in a frozen ripe banana (learn how to freeze bananas here) or a few scoops of vegan yogurt to give it creaminess and body.

Pro Recipe Tips

  • Adjusting the sweetness: Taste your peaches before blending. If they’re very sweet, you may need less sugar or no sugar at all. Regardless, it’s always best to start with less sweetener, taste it, and then gradually add more until the lemonade is just right.
  • Chill before serving: For the brightest flavor, chill your peach lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving. This gives the sugar more time to dissolve and the flavors more time to meld.
  • Don’t throw away the fruit pulp! You can add it to fruit smoothies (like this ginger fruit smoothie, yogurt parfaits, a bowl of strawberry oatmeal, healthy chia pudding, and more for a burst of sweet-tangy flavor.

Storage Instructions

If you have extra peach lemonade, store it in the fridge in a covered pitcher or airtight container and enjoy it within 2 to 3 days. Give it a quick stir before serving, as it may separate.

You can also freeze the lemonade in an ice cube tray for up to 2 months. Blend the cubes from frozen or slightly thawed for a quick peach lemonade slushie!
