This is so mega easy and even mega tastier. Roasting Cauliflower is my new pastime and eating mushrooms takes me to my happy place. Make some Black Bean Burgers and whip this up as a side dish. And if you have a ton of sage leftover try these biscuits!
Cauliflower Steaks and Mushroom Gravy
Ingredients
- 1 head of cauliflower
- 16 ounces of mushrooms (your choice) sliced
- 1 Tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 yellow onion diced
- 2 teaspoons of thyme- fresh and chopped
- 2 teaspoons of sage- fresh and chopped
- 2 cloves garlic- minced
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- pepper to taste
- 15 ounces of broth 1 can
- 3 Tablespoons of flour
Instructions
- Slice head of cauliflower into 1 inch thick slices and rub with a little oil and sprinkle with some salt and pepper.In a 400° oven, bake cauliflower for about 45 minutes
- Heat oil in a sauce pan and cook onion until translucent then add mushrooms until they release their liquid.
- Add sage, thyme, garlic, salt, and pepper and cook until fragrant .
- Add broth and flour (one Tablespoon at a time). Stir until gravy thickens!
