There are several simple and tasty ways to add extra flavor and/or texture to the strawberry popsicles recipe.

How to Make Strawberry Popsicles

Step 1: Rinse and slice off the tops of the strawberries. If youโ€™re using frozen strawberries, ensure theyโ€™re thawed first. Then, transfer all the ingredients to a blender and blend on high until completely smooth (about a minute). Taste and adjust the sugar levels.

Step 2: Pour the strawberry mixture into the popsicle molds and freeze for at least 5 hours or until solid (I usually do so overnight). To de-mold the strawberry ice popsicles, run it gently under warm water for a few seconds. Enjoy!

FAQs

Do I have to add sugar to strawberry popsicles?

Technically, no, and I often only add enough to taste. However, itโ€™s also important to note that sugar helps lower the freezing point of the strawberry mixture to make softer, less โ€˜icyโ€™ popsicles. Which is why a small amount is highly recommended.

Can I substitute the strawberries?

Yes, itโ€™s just as easy to use this basic popsicle recipe with other berries (like raspberries, blueberries, etc.), peaches, mango, etc.

What If I donโ€™t have popsicle molds?

You can make homemade popsicles in paper cups, a silicone XL ice-cube tray or muffin molds, or even a plastic-wrap lined loaf tin. Place foil or plastic wrap over the top to insert the popsicle sticks and hold them in place.

Can I make them without a blender?

Finely chop the berries and leave them to soften and macerate with the sugar for 20-30 minutes, then hand-mash them. Theyโ€™ll be chunky but taste great.

Storage Instructions

Store the frozen strawberry ice pops in the freezer for up to 2 months, either within the popsicle mold or individually wrapped in parchment paper and in a Ziplock/Stasher bag.

Ingredients 

  • 1 pint of fresh strawberries tops removed (use frozen when off strawberry season)

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar (optional)
  • ยผ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions 

  • Add the strawberries, sugar (if using), water, and vanilla to a blender. Blend on high for one minute or until completely smooth.
  • Pour the strawberry puree into popsicle molds.
  • Place the molds in the freezer for at least 5 hours or overnight.
